MIC — Music Industry Claims
Our Mission
I'm Mickey Shiloh. I've been in the music business for nearly 20 years—as a songwriter, artist, and entrepreneur working at the highest levels of the industry. I have deep relationships, history, and pre-existing connections throughout this space.
And I'm transparently biased.
Over my career, I've witnessed and experienced systemic issues that creators face—unfair contracts, exploitation, discrimination, lack of transparency, being ignored, going unpaid. I've also, unintentionally, made decisions that may have negatively impacted people. I'm aware of this. I've had business conflicts, and I've learned and tried to make amends. I'm not a saint. None of us are.
And here's what I know: if I'm reviewing complaints about the music industry, my relationships will cloud my judgment. So we built safeguards.
What We're Collecting and Why
We ask for demographics—gender, ethnicity, sexuality, religion, location, career stage—because patterns matter. If we can't see who's affected, we can't advocate for real change. We're looking for systemic issues, not individual grievances.
Your name and email are required so we can contact you if needed. But in our admin panel, you're anonymized. I see initials, not names. There's friction before I unmask anyone's identity. That friction is intentional.
Why This Matters
This platform exists so that if someone has a complaint about me, they can file it safely. I'm not above the system. In fact, I'm part of what we're trying to fix.
We will not sell your data. Our intention is to identify patterns and advocate for industry change. If we ever decide to share anonymized data with companies making positive change in music, that will be a transparent community discussion first.
If our privacy policy changes, you'll receive at least 30 days' notice by email and an opportunity to opt out. You can opt out now through our contact form.
Your privacy is real here. Your voice is safe.
